GMAT Overview

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a computer-adaptive test, organised by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) all over the world. The score obtained is used for admission to various Business Management graduate programs like MBA, Master of Accountancy etc., in Business schools in various countries including U.S, Canada and Europe. You do not have to worry, because it doesn’t test any knowledge specific to business management or any particular subject for that matter.  In fact, it tests your general intelligence.




GMAT Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility criteria requires for GMAT is 10+2. Apart from that, any person who is either doing graduation or working can give the exam. However, person below 18 years of age has to first send a written form to GMAT Customer Services of their respective region signed by his/her parents or guardian. This acts consent of parents allowing the student to take the test and also indicates their agreement to the terms and conditions of the test.

Applying for GMAT consists of some well-defined steps. Firstly, you need to select the test center. There are number of prelisted test centers available at the official site of GMAT, www.mba.com. You can just go through them and select the one nearest to you. Most of the test centers offer computer based exam all throughout the year based on their own schedule, which can vary from one test center to another. Regions where computer networks are not that widespread, either some temporary test centers offer the test on a strict schedule or there are certain local centers who offer paper based test organised once or twice a year. After that you need to register for the exam, i.e. have to make an appointment with the selected test center for the exam. You can find out the available timings at your selected test center while making the registration. There are three ways of making the appointment.
