Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) 


Test Format

There are three sections in the test given in the table below:

Analytical Writing assessment(AWA)
2 Essays
Each rated on a scale of 0-6
Each essay has to be written in 30 minutes
Two essays have to be written,
1. Analysis of argument
2. Analysis of issue
Quantitative Section
37 MCQs
Section is scored on a scale of 0-60 points
75 minutes
There are two types of questions:
1. Problem Solving(Basic Mathematics)
2. Data sufficiency
Verbal Section
41 MCQs
Section is scored on a scale of 0-60 points
75 minutes
There are three types of questions:
1. Sentence correction
2. Critical Reasoning
3. Reading comprehension



Key Points about GMAT

1. You can take test only once in a single month.
2. Test score is valid for 5 years
3. You can take the test as many times as you want to. But most of the institutes will use the average of your scores. So first look up the policy of the institute you are applying to, before deciding on it.
4. When you are done giving the test, computer provides you the option of whether you want to cancel your score or you want it to be accepted. If you cancel it, it gets nullified and no school or anybody else can see your score.
